Our adventures together get more adventurous as the years go on, and Sarah was the perfect tour guide to her now-home city. She took us on hikes and sightseeing trips, along with an eating and sipping tour of Denver and it's metro area.
I lost track of when and where we visited each place, but we ate at The Bindery in the Highland, which is connected to a cool market that reminds me of the ferry building in San Francisco.
We ate at Sierra in Lone Tree, which is a stone's throw from Sarah's house. A beautiful place, delicious food and low-key atmosphere.
We drove over to Boulder, just to walk around and be one of the tourists in the off season. Unfortunately the weather did not agree and it rained most of the trip. Before the rain got too heavy, we dipped into Sforno Trattoria Romana and were thankful for shelter from the rain, complete with charcuterie and a glass of wine.
We had a lovely night planned to see a concert at Red Rocks. Sarah set up a driver so we didn't have to worry about parking or driving. The amphitheater is beautiful! It's also very very steep, and high up in the mountains and the band was far more popular than we had expected so we couldn't find a free spot to sit.We took to pictures, meandered around checking for seats and then just about got blown off the mountain in the wind. We decided to cut our losses and take our ride back to the house. We're not as young as we used to be.
It was a very windy night! |
The best part of all of these trips is catching up with friends. We had a good mix of outdoor and adventure time, and took the opportunity to enjoy some relaxing and catch-up time with some of my longest friendship ladies.
